 Put 4 or 5 Steel Spoons in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes or until they are completely Chilled. Hold the upper portion of the cold spoon against your puffy eyes for 1 minute. Keep swapping the warm spoons with cold ones. The cool temperature will help tighten up the skin around your eyes and ease the blood vessels, thus helping to get rid of puffy eyes.
 



Alternative option is to chill your used green or black tea bags in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. Put them over your closed eyelids for 10 minutes. Repeat a few times. The anti-irritant properties in tea will help lessen puffiness and swelling. This remedy will also reduce under eye dark circles.




The third cost-effective remedy is to place thick slices of chilled cucumbers on your closed eyelids for 10 minutes. The astringent nature of cucumbers helps reduce soreness around your eyes. This remedy should be used twice a day for great results.




  








2. Reclaim that Cheerful Smile again: Baking Soda for Yellow Teeth


Pearl White teeth are the secret behind a bright smile. Regular oral cleanliness regime plays a key role in keeping your teeth sparkling white.



However some hereditary issues, chain smoking, excessive consumption of tea or coffee, and use of hard water can make your teeth appear yellowish.
 









Here are some inexpensive natural teeth-whitening remedies.


 


Simply mix quarter teaspoon of baking soda with a small amount of your toothpaste. Gently brush your teeth with it, once a week. The characteristics of baking soda will help polish the surface of the teeth and remove the stains. Try to use this remedy before going to bed or not drink or eat after this remedy for about an hour.

Another option is to rub the inner portion of a fresh orange peel over your teeth every night before going to sleep for a week. The natural bleaching compounds in the peel reduce the yellow tinge on your teeth.





 




3. Toothpaste for Acne and Pimple Problem


Acne or other skin problems are most common among teenagers. It can appear on the face, chest, back and scalp. Most common reasons for acne can be excessive oil production, accumulation of dead skin cells, clogged pores and bacteria. 



You can fix this problem with these following remedies.




Apply a small amount of white toothpaste on the affected area before going to bed and rinse it off the next morning. Repeat daily for a few days until your skin is free of acne.







Aloe Vera is also very useful to rid of mild to moderate acne. Just extract the gel inside an Aloe Vera leaf and apply it on the affected area, twice a day. The anti-bacterial properties help kill the bacteria causing acne as well as reduce inflammation.
 





4. Sugar Wax for Undesirable Facial Hair



This is a very embarrassing problem for most young women. But you can get rid of this by using home-made Sugar Wax.


Used in the same way you would use your regular hair removal wax. This remedy will only help remove the unwanted hair temporarily, not permanently.






Mix together 2 teaspoons of granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of water.


Heat the mixture in a microwave for 20 to 30 seconds until it turns brown. Allow it to cool.

Using a spatula, apply it on the areas where you want to remove the hair.

Place a cloth strip over the mixture and smooth it out in the direction of the hair growth.

After a few seconds, rip it off in the opposite direction of hair growth. Repeat as needed.





5. Coconut Oil & Lemon Juice for Dandruff


Dandruff is another disturbing problem that people of any age can have. It causes visible dry flakes of skin that shed from the scalp. When these flakes fall on our clothing, they cause a lot of embarrassment. Dandruff also causes itchiness and oily look.

A healthy hair care routine is required to eliminate this menace. 

You can also try some simple natural home remedies.
 


Mix a quarter cup of warm coconut oil with the juice of half a lemon.
Massage your scalp with this mixture and wait for 30 minutes before washing your hair.
Using this remedy twice a week work wonders.


 



6. Baking Soda for Blackheads


Blackheads look like small dark or black bumps that mainly appear on the nose and forehead. A common teenage problem due to clogged skin pores. 

People who have oily skin and those experiencing hormonal changes in the body are more likely to have this problem.

You can try some cost-effective remedies at home, using common household items that can clean out your pores.





Baking Soda is the cheapest available treatment for blackheads. Make a paste of baking soda with a little water. Apply it on the affected area, leave it on for a few seconds and then rinse it off. Use this remedy once or twice a week.





Oatmeal can also be an effective remedy. Prepare a face pack with 2 tablespoons of oatmeal, 3 tablespoons of plain yogurt and a little lemon juice. Apply it on your face, wait 5 minutes and then scrub off the paste with wet hands. Then rinse with lukewarm water. Repeat once or twice a week for a clear and fresh face.






7. Baby Powder for Oily Hair


What causes oily hair?
Sebum is oil produced naturally by our scalp skin. It helps the natural shine of the hair which makes it look vibrant, healthy and lively but excessive oil weighs our hair down causing an ignored and unattractive look. Oily hair are prone to dandruff and itchiness.

The exact cause of oily hair is unknown but genetic and environmental factor are the most likely explanation. 

Minor oily hair issues can be easily corrected by changing your shampoo and conditioner. Other remedies are washing your hair more frequently and use only lukewarm water, not hot water. Hot water stimulates sebum production, thus making your hair oilier than before.

Also, avoid using a hair brush as it will distribute the sebum all through your hair from the roots to the ends. Instead, try combing your hair.


In case you need a quick fix, you can use baby powder or talcum powder as an effective dry shampoo to help absorb the excess oil. Just put some baby powder in your hands and rub it all through your hair. Then brush your hair gently but thoroughly.






8. Egg Whites for Oily Skin

Oily skin does not age faster, but it is the most difficult skin type to care for. As the body produces more oil than necessary, it gives an awkward shiny look to the skin. Oily skin is prone to acne breakouts and blackheads. This problem most often affects women with unstable hormones.

To turn a greasy, shiny complexion into a fresh-faced glow, you need to wash your face a few times daily with a gentle cleanser. 

There are also some easy remedies to try.


An egg white is one of the most effective and inexpensive remedies for oily skin. It helps absorb excess oil and also tones up oily skin. 

Whip 1 egg white and apply it on your skin. Allow it to dry then wash it off with warm water. Follow this remedy twice a week. 
Optionally, you can mix the juice of half a lemon in the whipped egg white before applying it to your face.


Another remedy is to rub half a tomato on your skin. Wait 15 minutes for the tomato juice to do its magic then rinse it off with cold water. Use this remedy 2 or 3 times a week. The natural oil-absorbing acids in tomatoes help absorb the excess oil.






9. Coconut Oil for Extremely Dry Skin

Some of the reasons of dry skin are living in extreme weather conditions, spending long hours indoors with central heating, taking long hot showers or baths, swimming in chlorinated pools, using harsh soaps and detergents and regular sun exposure.

Dry skin is an uncomfortable condition. Lack of adequate moisture in the skin causes itching, dry skin patches, scaling and cracking. As scratching may be hard to resist, it makes the skin condition even worse.

To soothe dry skin, adequate moisture level is a must. For this, there is no need to invest in expensive moisturizing creams and lotions. There are many natural hydrating products in your kitchen that can give effective results.



Applying some extra-virgin coconut oil on your skin daily after taking a bath is highly beneficial for extremely dry skin. 

Apply the oil especially after a bath when your skin is somewhat damp helps lock in the moisture.


Another good natural moisturizer for dry skin is honey. It helps lock in moisture to reduce dryness and keep the skin soft. Before taking a shower, rub honey all over your body, wait for 10 minutes and then take your shower. Repeat the procedure twice or thrice in a week.
